2023 Audi RS e-tron GT Available With $20,000 Discount

Electric Vehicles / 3 Comments

A new dealer bulletin has revealed some appealing discounts for the electric sedan.

The Audi e-tron GT may be one of the prettiest electric vehicles on the market, but with a starting price of $106,500, it's also one of the priciest. Thankfully, those in the market for this stylish EV are in luck, as Audi is offering hefty discounts on the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT, reports CarsDirect.

According to a dealer bulletin seen by the publication, the range-topping 2023 RS model will receive a whopping $20,000 National Customer Credit. The incentive is being offered to customers who opt to lease or buy, and those who go down the finance route don't even have to go through Audi to get the discount.

As a reminder, the RS e-tron GT has a based MSRP of $147,100, which means buyers can get behind the wheel for just $127,100 (excl. any options). It's not a bad deal for a car that sprints to 60 mph quicker than a V10-engined R8.

But if you're not interested in performance, the base e-tron GT is also privy to appealing discounts. 2023 models can be had with as much as $12,500 cut from the MSRP, which is still a great deal. $94,500 for a rakish German sedan with 522 horsepower sounds excellent.

Discounts for MY2024 e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT are less generous but tempting. Buyers of the former will be treated to $5,000 off the MSRP, while the performance-oriented model is offered with $10,000 off. We're not sure why Audi is slashing prices for the e-tron GT lineup, but maybe the automaker's latest sales statistics have the answer.

We've contacted Audi for comment and will update the article once we receive a reply.

In the third quarter of 2023, Audi sold just 638 units of the electric sports sedan. While stronger than the A7 (378), the e-tron GT is some way behind the larger A8 (772), one of the company's slower sellers.

There's a possibility that Audi is trying to get rid of existing inventory as the MY2024 models continue to roll into dealerships. Then again, the 2024 models are also available with discounts, so there's a chance we may see a facelifted model hitting showrooms next year. After all, it has been on sale for nearly four years now.

We've seen a similar tactic with the Jeep Gladiator. There are incredible discounts on 2023 models, introduced just ahead of the facelifted model arriving at dealerships.

Getting back to the Audi e-tron GT, the discount brings the electric Audi within reach of more customers and should boost sales for the fourth quarter. Then again, those interested in a quick and luxurious electric sedan may be tempted by the Tesla Model S Plaid. After the recent price cuts, it's more affordable than ever, with a fully loaded example under $110,000.

Just don't expect Audi's levels of fit and finish.
